Measuring Guide

Important Customer Notice

Please take care when measuring and recording the dimensions of your door system. The provision of accurate dimension data during the door system ordering process is entirely your own responsibility. Admiral Homespace shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury caused by any errors you make in measuring the dimensions for your door system. If you are uncertain as to the accuracy of the necessary dimensions, you are advised to independently verify the accuracy of the information prior to ordering any door system. It is your responsibility to advise us of a requirement for deductions reference ‘going in tolerances’.

1
Check both door jambs for vertical alignment using a large level. This is a combined door/frame system, therefore ensure all measurements are taken from the doorway surround (i.e. from the extremities of the existing door frame).
2
Carefully measure the vertical dimension of the door aperture between door lintel and door sill at the hinged door edge (ensure the measure remains vertical in the event that door jambs in step 1 show any deviation from vertical).
3
Carefully measure the vertical dimension of the door aperture at the doorway midpoint, again ensuring the measure remains vertical when
taking a reading.
4
Carefully measure the vertical dimension of the door aperture at the door opening edge, ensuring the measure remains vertical when taking a reading. Record the shortest of these dimensions, this will be your Door Frame Height.
5
Carefully measure the horizontal dimension of the door aperture at the top of the doorway, ensuring the measure is horizontal when taking a reading.
6
Carefully measure the horizontal dimension of the door aperture at the midway point, ensuring the measure is horizontal when taking a reading.
7
Measure the horizontal dimension of the door aperture at the door base, ensuring the measure is horizontal when taking a reading. Record the shortest of the three horizontal measurements,
this will be your Door Frame Width.
8
Proceed with ordering your custom door using the measurements taken, via our agent supplying door style, colour, door furnishing options and delivery date.

Disclaimer: Bifold doors often have low or flush thresholds that require expert judgement to ensure a correct installation. We cannot be held responsible for incorrect measuring in this or any regard unless our Surveyor carries out a Survey.
